PROJECT 457 / CINQUE100, THE MYTH OF A POP CAR
ITALIANO. "Cinque100, il mito di una pop car" è la personale di Diego Testolin dedicata all'iconica FIAT 500: circa venti ritratti dell'utilitaria italiana, oli su tela e alcuni a tecnica mista, dai toni Warholiani.
Fra le opere, una tela dedicata al progetto 457: la mostra, curata da Roberta Di Chiara, ha debuttato presso la Mirafiori Galerie di Torino, dove ha stazionato dal 13 Ottobre al 12 Novembre 2017, prima di iniziare il tour.
La tela dedicata al progetto 457, di comune accordo con l'autore, è stata donata alla Palazzina Reale di Stupinigi, sede natia della FIAT 500 e del dedicato progetto "457 Stupinigi Experience".
Diego Testolin: “Ho sempre guardato alla pop-art e ai grandi maestri americani indagando i temi della quotidianità, innalzandoli a simboli del mio tempo. La mostra Cinque100 nasce da qui: è un omaggio all’icona che ha motorizzato gli italiani rendendo onore al suo stile e al design che l’hanno resa celebre nel mondo”.
ENGLISH. "Cinque100, the myth of a pop car" is Diego Testolin's solo exhibition dedicated to the iconic FIAT 500: about twenty portraits of the Italian car, oils on canvas and some mixed technique, in Warholian tones.
Among the works, a canvas dedicated to 457 project: the exhibition, curated by Roberta Di Chiara, debuted at Mirafiori Galerie of Turin, where it stationed from October 13 to November 12, 2017, before starting the tour.
The canvas dedicated to 457 project, in agreement with the author, was donated to Royal Lodge of Stupinigi, the native home of the FIAT 500 and of the dedicated project "457 Stupinigi Experience".
Diego Testolin: "I have always looked at pop-art and the great American masters investigating the themes of everyday life, raising them to symbols of my time. The Cinque100 exhibition is born from here: it is a tribute to the icon that has driven the Italians by honoring its style and design that made it famous in the world.
